Five Years of Work by The Somerville Mathematics Fund
We were chartered in September 2000 to celebrate and encourage achievement in mathematics in the city of Somerville, Massachusetts. Our affiliation with Dollars for Scholars gives students who receive one of our scholarships a financial aid advantage at over 440 colleges.
All of our contributions are tax deductible (501(c)(3))
In September 2003, The Somerville Mathematics Fund won the 2003-2004 Golden Tassel Community Service Award from the national Dollars for Scholars organization for the outstanding new Dollars for Scholars chapter.

We have held three thematic family mathematics nights for middle school students and their families. High school and community volunteers ran each of the evenings which were attended by students from East Somerville Community School, A. D. Healey School, and PowderHouse Community School.
